Regin’s production in Hultsfred, Sweden, celebrates 50 years

In 2025, Regin is highlighting that the company’s production unit in Hultsfred is turning 50. Today, the site features advanced surface-mount assembly and laser marking for the manufacture of components and products used in building automation.

“The production in Hultsfred has always been at the forefront of manufacturing technology and is today an important pillar of our sustainability work, with production close to our customers in Europe,” says Mari Rudqvist, General Manager of AB Regin.

In 1975, Allelektronik - since 2023 part of Regin Group - began producing and testing Regin’s products. Since then, Regin and Allelektronik have had a strong and well-functioning partnership as producers and developers of building-automation products.

“Above all, it has been of great importance for Regin that production for our European market has been close to our customers and end users,” says Nicklas Eriksson, Site Manager in Hultsfred.

Nicklas Eriksson has seen how production has gradually developed into the modern facility it is today, where new machines automate the work and award-winning products are assembled and delivered.

“In 2000, a technological shift was carried out when we moved from through-hole assembly to surface-mount. With the new machines, we were able to produce the first generation of Corrigo and made it possible to scale up production of the first generation Regio room controller. The early digitalization worked wonders for our production chain,” says Nicklas Eriksson.

Today, all production in Hultsfred is automated. This has made the manufacturing of the Red Dot Design Award-winning Regio RCX and the newly launched Regio RTX transmitter efficient and places the production unit at the cutting edge.

“A lot has happened over 50 years,” says Nicklas. “It feels exciting to follow the years ahead and see how much our production unit will be a driving force in both energy savings and the climate transition in Europe.”

AB Regin’s General Manager, Mari Rudqvist, also emphasizes the production unit’s importance in the manufacturing chain and within Regin Group. She highlights short lead times, high quality, flexibility, and reliable deliveries as key factors behind the unit’s success.

“Swedish production has been modernized over time and is today an important pillar of our sustainability work. The production unit in Hultsfred has consistently been at the forefront with automation solutions and efficiency improvements. We have been able to maintain proximity to our core markets while minimizing our climate footprint through shorter transports and the use of green electricity. So we congratulate our production unit in Hultsfred on 50 years,” says Mari Rudqvist.
